Who We Are

In response to the turbulence that has affected many parts of South Sudan over the years, the Integrated Participatory Approach to Development (IPAD) was established to promote human, women, and children’s welfare. We focus on communities from conflict-affected areas, where we address inequality, challenge gender norms, and promote the rights of oppressed populations. In particular, IPAD is committed to improving the well being of women and children- who are often disproportionally affected by such conflict.

A core element of our approach is to improve access to health services, sanitation, and livelihood opportunities. Each project we initiate is carried out in liaison with both governmental and non-governmental entities. With the ultimate goal of promoting socio-economic empowerment, IPAD is deeply involved in innovative projects that bring value to vulnerable and conflict-affected populations. It is only through empowering local communities that South Sudan can rise up from past conflicts and continue to rebuild.

IPAD takes a unique approach from many other humanitarian organizations inside and outside the country. Because we’re deeply involved in the community, we understand the challenges that men, women and children face. Our projects and proposals aim at the heart of each issue- ultimately fuelling us to develop initiatives that empower socio-economically disadvantaged populations in South Sudan. From disaster risk reduction to promoting education, IPAD is a key participant of the new peace movement in the country- and the region at large.

Vision

As the Integrated Participatory Approach to Development, IPAD works towards promoting the wellbeing of conflict affected populations in South Sudan. By empowering women and children, increasing access to health and education, challenging gender norms, and reducing disaster risk elements, IPAD has the ultimate goal of uplifting communities and promoting sustainable livelihoods.

Mission

IPAD’s mission is to develop, empower, and support socio-economically disadvantaged communities in South Sudan. By liaising with non-governmental, governmental, and community partners, our mission is to assist vulnerable populations in addressing key poverty-related issues. Our ultimate goal is to rebuild affected communities and make them self-sustaining moving forward.
